ÖZCAN ULUCAN - Violin

Özcan Ulucan is a Turkish violin and viola player who was born in Bulgaria.He has studied in Bulgaria, Turkey, UK and Germany with Zdravka&Vesselin Spirov, G.Burova, Yfrah Neaman, Viktor Pikaizen, Joshua Epstein and Maxim Vengerov who called him "The most accomplished among my students, he is a true follower of my music philosophy on stage.."
Besides giving concerts as Soloist, Ulucan performs frequently with his musician sisters the pianist Birsen Ulucan and the violinist Ayşen Ulucan. He has released two CD recordings under the lable of Lila Music İstanbul. 
In the past years Ulucan has played together with musicians such as Maxim Vengerov, Ayla Erduran, Marta Gulyas, Eduard Brunner, Fazil Say, Cristina Ortiz, Isabelle van Keulen, Christian Poltera, Alexander Rahbari, Georgi Dimitrov, Mstislav Rostropovich. During his stay in Germany he also joined the jazz improvisation sessions of the jazz pianist Georg Ruby.
Özcan Ulucan has played with English Chamber Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra London in venues such as Royal Albert Hall London, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wels Festival, Ludwigsburg Festival, Budapest Spring Festival and Amsterdam Concertgebow,at the latter together with Maxim Vengerov and

Özcan Ulucan currently resides in Istanbul, giving Solo and Chamber music concerts both as a Violinist and Viola player. Being a founding member of the New Music Ensemble Hezarfen-Istanbul, Özcan Ulucan also teaches as Assistant Professor at the Mimar Sinan University State Music Academy and is being permanent guest as soloist and teacher at the Klasik Keyifler Music Festival and Summer Academy in Cappadocia - Turkey.
